Charlotte and Amelia are sisters. They both have different lives, different partners, and different personalities. Besides the fact that they might slightly look alike, otherwise, you won’t say that they are sisters at all.

It’s Charlotte’s turn to treat Amelia to coffee. It is a sister’s date morning. Amelia isn’t in the possession of a driver’s license, which means that Charlotte is picking Amelia up from her home.

When Amelia got in the car, Charlotte saw the lifeless emotion in her eyes. As they were driving off to the coffee shop, Charlotte asked:

“What’s wrong?”

To which Amelia responded:

“Nothing.”

So they continued their trip to the coffee shop, Charlotte making small talk as if nothing is wrong, although she knew she saw the lifelessness in Amelia’s eye.

At the coffee shop, Amelia ordered a bottomless hot chocolate while Charlotte decided on a bottomless coffee with warm milk. Charlotte thought that she might sit there with her sister, drinking one cup of coffee after the next but when the waiter brought the cup of coffee, it was the size of two cups in one mug. Charlotte only had one which meant the prize she paid, didn’t justify it for her.

The two women chatted about everything, from their family lives to big decisions that needed to be made. There were times the two laughed at certain things as well. As the time went by during the two sister’s coffee date together, Charlotte saw that the twinkle in Amelia’s eyes was back. She had a smile on her face and her eyes proclaimed joy.

Charlotte thought at that moment:

“Time. It’s more precious than materialistic things. Time spent with others, lift them and show love. Time spent with another brings back that twinkle in the eyes.”
